Digital X-Ray

X-ray uses radiation to make images of bones, teeth and internal organs. X-rays allow our Radiologists to take pictures of the inside of your body.

One of the first forms of medical imaging, x-ray is a simple, painless medical test that can help your doctor provide you with appropriate treatment. It’s a fast, easy and safe way for your doctor to view and assess conditions ranging from detecting fractures and other bone abnormalities.

INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Low-dose CT Guided Injections

Benefits of CT Guided Lumbar Spine Injections:

  • Reduces and relieves inflammation and pain
  • Direct injections by our expert radiologists help confirm source of pain and provide pain relief
  • Accurate delivery of treatment
  • Note: if the source of pain is more than one site it will be more appropriate to treat each level on corresponding weeks.Performed under low dose CT guidance

Pre-procedure

  • Ensure you have any recent relevant films available, this may already be available on our system.
  • The radiologist will review your images and discuss the procedure with you and decide on the most appropriate technique at the time of the study.Your referral will indicate the type of injection you are having as well the side and level.
     
     

On the day

  • The procedure will be explained to you by the radiographer and / or radiologist, allergies need to excluded and a consent form signed.
  • You will be lying prone on the CT table for the procedure and CT will be used to guide the injection to the correct site.
  • Depending on the procedure you may be required to remain on site for 30 mins post-procedure.  You will be given a pain chart to document your response over the next week.

Ultrasound Guided Injections (USG)

Benefits of Ultrasound Guided Injections:

  • Reduces and relieves inflammation and pain in different regions
  • Direct injections by our expert radiologists help confirm source of pain and provide pain relief
  • Accurate delivery of treatment
  • Performed under Ultrasound guidance
  • Quick delivery of medication to target region which includes shoulders, hands, feet, hips and knees.
  • Note: if the source of pain is more than one site it will be more appropriate to treat each site on corresponding weeks.

  • You will be seated / lying down on the Ultrasound table for the procedure and Ultrasound imaging will be used to guide the injection to the correct site.
  • Procedures are usually very quick, depending on the procedure you may be required to minimise physical duties for up to a week.
